Privacy Policy — NCLEX CAT Simulator

This Privacy Policy describes how New Careers Academy ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the NCLEX CAT Simulator mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the terms described below.

1. Who we are

The App is owned and operated by New Careers Academy, an educational organization providing NCLEX-RN preparation materials for nursing graduates. You can reach us at support@newcareersacademy.com.

2. Information we collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to operate the App:

• Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and a randomly generated user ID. We do not collect your name, date of birth, phone number, or address.
• Study activity. While you use the App, we store your quiz answers, question history, scores, ability estimates, and study progress. This data powers the Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT) engine and lets you resume practice on another device.
• Device and diagnostic data. We do not actively collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, location, contacts, photos, or any other personal data. The App requires only network permissions to communicate with our servers.

We do not use analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or third-party trackers in the App.

3. How we use information

We use the information described above to:

• Authenticate your account and keep it secure;
• Save your study progress and sync it across devices you sign in on;
• Calculate your adaptive ability estimate so questions match your level;
• Respond to support requests you send us.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

4. How information is stored

Account credentials and study data are stored using Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore), a service provided by Google LLC. Data is hosted in Google's secure data centers. Google acts as our data processor and is bound by Google's own data-protection commitments. You can review Google's privacy practices at policies.google.com/privacy.

We use Firebase security rules to ensure that one user's data is never readable or writable by another user.

5. Sharing of information

We do not share your personal information with third parties, except:

• With Google Firebase, strictly as our data processor for hosting (described above);
• If required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of New Careers Academy, our users, or the public.

6. Your rights

You may, at any time:

• Access the data we hold about you by signing into the App;
• Correct any inaccurate information by contacting us;
• Delete your account and all associated study data by emailing support@newcareersacademy.com from the email address used to register. We will delete your data within 30 days of verifying the request.

7. Children's privacy

The App is designed for nursing graduates preparing for the NCLEX-RN licensure examination and is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

We protect your information through industry-standard measures:

• All data in transit is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS;
• Passwords are never stored by us — Firebase Authentication handles credential storage;
• Firestore security rules enforce per-user data isolation on the server side.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data using reasonable safeguards.

9. Data retention

We retain account and study data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your data from active databases within 30 days. Encrypted backups may persist for up to 90 days before being automatically purged.

10. International users

If you use the App from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where Firebase servers may be located. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated within the App. Continued use of the App after such changes constitutes acceptance.
